Rome’s famous Stadio Olimpico is well-known as the home of Italian football giants SS Lazio and AS Roma.

Twice a season, this modern-day colosseum is the setting for one of Italian football’s fiercest rivalries.

The dark history behind this iconic sporting arena is less well-known.
