Monumento a Aleardo Aleardi |
Aleardo Aleardi was an Italian patriot and neo-romantic poet born in Verona in 1812. Aleardi's work was inspired by Italy's struggle for independence (the Risorgimento), a struggle for which he was twice imprisoned.
The monument was erected in 1883 and can be found in Piazza Santi Apostoli. It was designed by Ugo Zannoni. The plinth on which the statue stands describes some of the key events in his life. |
